HTC Exodus 1 is a flagship “Crypto” smartphone that features a 6.0 inch Super LCD6 screen with QuadHD resolution.  In the camera set-up, this unit offers a dual 8MP selfie camera while the rear camera is 12+16Megapixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset which is paired with 6GB of RAM space. While it doesn’t feature a microSD card slot, it offers a 128GB in-built storage space that is quite big. Powering this handset is a 3500mAh battery with an 18W adapter for quick fill-ups. Other HTC smartphones available here in Kenya include HTC U11, HTC desire 12 & HTC U11 Eyes.

Introduction & Performance

HTC Exodus 1 is the first ever Crypto-currency based smartphone that comes with a flagship-grade performance. The manufacturer is only accepting crypto-currency such as Bitcoin as the only mode of payment for Exodus 1. The phone offers high-end specs profile such as flagship chipset and is IP68 rated (water & dust resistant). This smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset and is coupled with 6GB of RAM space. Users can expect a flawless performance that is on the high-end level. Adreno 630 handles all the graphics performances needs, especially in gaming.

Battery & Display

The Exodus 1 packs a vibrant display quality because of its high pixels density.  The notches 6.0-inch display utilizes the Super LCD6 panel and has a 1440p QuadHD resolution. This offers super bright images with sharp contrast ideal for watching, gaming or browsing. This smartphone is fuelled by a sealed Li-Ion 3500mAh battery which is relatively big to last for long periods. There is also a Quick Charge 3.0 (18W) solution that ensures quick recharge time.

Camera & Storage

In the camera module, the Exodus 1 packs 4 cameras in total. At the back is a dual 12MP (f/1.8) & 16MP (f/2.6) telephoto lens. The camera is accompanied by a dual LED flash with dual tone and can easily shoot 4K videos at 60fps. The dual 8MP + 8MP selfie camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. For storage, this smartphone is bundled with an onboard space of 128GB which is quite sufficient for most users. There is no microSD card slot to allow the user to further expand the internal storage.

Connectivity & Platform

This unit runs on Android v8.1 Oreo operating system out of its package. Connectivity options on the Exodus 1 include VoLTE support, 4G network, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1 Type-C port and dual SIM support. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
