Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy Fold 2 during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event that is scheduled for February 11. From recent rumours, the new folding phone is expected to be very different, in terms of design, from the first-ever phone with a folding display- the Samsung Galaxy Fold.  Details about the upcoming folding phone have been scanty, but new reports now claim that it may be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset, not the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset. Besides, this device is expected to feature a 10 megapixels front-facing camera.

This Galaxy Fold 2 is likely to be launched alongside the Galaxy S20 series. Although the Galaxy S20 series will be powered by QUALCOMM’s new and most powerful – Snapdragon 865 SoC, the Galaxy Fold will rock Snapdragon 855 SoC.

According to renowned tipster Ishan Agarwal, all regions of the world will get Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 with Snapdragon 855 SoC. Samsung is not planning to have an Exynos powered variant for some regions like it has done with most flagships in the past.

Also, this phone is expected to feature a 10 megapixels front-facing camera. This camera is likely to be the same as that on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Judging from the alleged concept renders, this camera will be housed in a centrally placed punch hole, just like the front camera of the Galaxy Note 10.

Samsung has also reported that it has started the manufacture of the Galaxy S20 smartphones and the Galaxy A71.  Samsung Galaxy A71 was announced late last year alongside the Samsung Galaxy A51. The latter is already available in Kenya in leading online stores.  At the time of writing, the Galaxy A51 was retailing at KSh. 28,500.
